川越の街の片隅に佇む印刷所・三日月堂。店主が亡くなり、長らく空き家になっていた三日月堂だが、店主の孫娘・弓子が川越に帰ってきたことで営業を再開する。三日月堂が営むのは昔ながらの活版印刷。活字を拾い、依頼に応じて一枚一枚手作業で言葉を印刷する。そんな三日月堂には色んな悩みを抱えたお客が訪れ、活字と言葉の温かみによって心が解きほぐされていくのだが、弓子もどうやら事情を抱えているようで――
