A Piece of Cake

With their numbers stretched thin, an older pilot straps the narrator into his plane and warns him that they face lots of trouble, but the narrator replies it's a 'piece of cake'. It proves otherwise and his plane crashes into the ground and he blacks out, then awakens and crawls from the burning plane. After the older pilot lands nearby and begins to help him, the narrator loses consciousness again and enters a dream world filled with bizarre images and events.
